How to write your bartender resume

  1. Show volume and speed

Drinks per night, guests served or the size of the events you worked prove you can keep up when the bar is three deep.

  2. Mention menu work

If you created cocktails, ran a happy hour or helped with a drinks list, say so. It shows creativity and that you think about sales.

  3. Prove you handle money and stock

Bartenders handle cash and expensive stock. Till balancing, inventory counts and pour-cost control make strong bullets.

  4. Show your responsible service training

List your alcohol service certification and any food handler card. Some states and employers require them.

  5. Match the type of bar

A high-volume club, a cocktail lounge and a hotel bar want different things. Put the experience closest to the job at the top of each role.
